Green Beans Amandine

To make this recipe quick and easy, you can buy fresh or frozen packages of green beans designed for microwaving. These beans will be prewashed and the stems already removed.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound fresh or frozen whole green beans

  • 1/2 cup sliced almonds

  • Butter-flavored cooking spray


Directions

Microwave beans according to package directions. Spray sliced almonds lightly with butter-flavored cooking spray and toast lightly in a small nonstick frying pan over medium heat. Add to cooked beans.


Serves 6

Each serving contains about 95 calories, 4 g protein, 6 g fat, 0 mg cholesterol, 8 g carbohydrates, 4 g fiber, and 28 mg sodium.
